Captain America: The Winter Soldier smashed records and crushed the box office competition this weekend.

The superhero movie opened with $96.2 million, breaking the record for an April release — previously held by 2011’s $86.1 million for Fast Five.

The Marvel sequel is also now the year’s biggest opening thus far.

It was a big drop to second place, where Noah fell with $17 million.

Divergent earned $13 million for third place, followed by God’s Not Dead finishing in fourth after taking in $7.7 million.

Rounding out the Top 10 were The Grand Budapest Hotel ($6.3 million) and Muppets Most Wanted ($6.3 million), Mr. Peabody and Sherman ($5.3 million), Sabotage ($1.9 million), Need for Speed ($1.8 million), and Non-Stop ($1.8 million).
