Capital Steez, Rapper, Dead at 19: Reports

(Pro Era)

The rapper Capital Steez has died, according to his collaborator Joey Bada$$.

He was 19.

The teenage performer, whose real name was Jamal Dewar, was part of the Pro Era crew, which released their “PEEP: The Aprocalypse” mix tape just days ago.

There’s speculation that Dewar committed suicide early Monday after he cryptically tweeted, “The end.”

Suicide has not been confirmed as the cause of death.

Dewar’s friend and collaborator Joey Bada$$ announced the news of his passing on Twitter.

“This unfortunate xmas eve.. Lost a best friend, a brother, a pro, a partner. Letting go is never easy.. May ur soul rest in peace Jamal,” wrote Bada$$.

He added, “RIP CAPITAL STEEZ!!! 7.7.93 – 12.24.12.”

Gossip Cop will have updates.

If this is suicide then may The Most High bless him and receive him. Black males are endangered the world over. We are also at risk for having untreated mental illness. Simply, the deck is stacked, has been stacked and will be stacked against us.

NOMO_C_RAP I think you may need YOUR mouth washed out with buckshot.

Who also suffered from untreated mental illness. While I understand what you were attempting to point out, responding to generalizations with more generalizations is ironic and unproductive.

Great theory…Too bad Joey just collaborated with Kendrick, A$AP, and Yelawolf to name a few. On top of that, he’s said he wants to stay independent. Stop with the idiotic conspiracy theories.
