Candace Cameron Bure Slammed On Twitter For Praising Donald Trump Speech
Candace Cameron Bure got slammed by several Twitter users after praising President Donald Trump’s speech to Congress on Tuesday night. The actress then retweeted and responded to a number of the angry tweets.
As Gossip Cop reported, Trump delivered his first major speech to Congress since taking office in January, and a number of celebrities reacted on Twitter to the president’s address. The majority of the stars’ comments were negative, but Bure applauded Trump’s talk. “American jobs,” she first wrote, along with a fist-bump emoji. “He got the Dems standing up on that one! Drug prices,” she added.
The former “View” host next tweeted, “Nope, we won’t forget Ryan and the countless men and women who have laid down their lives for American freedom,” in reference to the death of U.S. Navy SEAL William “Ryan” Owens, to whom Trump paid tribute. And finally, Bure concluded, “Very good address to congress.”
Many of the actress’s Twitter followers were outraged by her positive reaction to Trump’s speech, with one writing, “F**k your failing job bitch black people are doomed,” to which Bure directly responded, “You don’t know what affects me. You only assume. And then make failing jokes about my job. God bless you.”
Another person said, “That’s why your Netflix show is about to get cancelled soon,” referring to “Fuller House,” and Bure wrote back, “How does this not make sense?! My twitter feed confuses me. I need 2 follow more conservatives. However, I absolutely love my liberal friends.” The actress added, “I [love] people who have a different opinion than u, wish u the worst & unfollow. I think right there is the problem. #tolerance much?”
Bure went on to retweet a number of nasty comments she received, including, “Lmao go to bed you psychotic Jesus freak,” “This is why I’m not watching your sh*tty ass sitcom,” “very good way to end ur barely existent career,” and “Fuller house is trash and apparently you are too.” Finally, Bure concluded, “Well, that was fun. Night night, sweet dreams, Jesus loves you.”
