If you hug Cameron Diaz, you might be dating her.

While that’s not such a bad thing, the theory — put forth by The Daily Mail — has a few holes.

First, the paper even admits Diaz wasn’t just hanging with the “mystery man,” but with a group of friends.

Also, it’s not out of the ordinary for friends to hug.

And then there’s that little thing about her having (ahem) a boyfriend, namely Alex Rodriguez, with whom the actress was recently spotted taking in Broadway’s “Rock Of Ages.”

The only mystery here is why the Daily Mail went with this non-story.
