Caitlyn Jenner Joins Twitter: “Can’t Wait For You To Get To Know Her/Me”
Caitlyn Jenner, who debuted herself on the cover of Vanity Fair, also joined Twitter on Monday so everyone can “get to know her/me.” Using the screen name @Caitlyn_Jenner and her cover photo from the magazine, she tweeted, “I’m so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can’t wait for you to get to know her/me.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Bruce Jenner first gave a glimpse into herself during an April interview with Diane Sawyer in which she acknowledged transitioning from male to female. And during the two-part special “Keeping Up With The Kardashians: About Bruce,” she further talked about how, at 65, it was time for her to finally live as the woman she felt she was when she was a young boy.
In the Vanity Fair cover story about Caitlyn Jenner, she says, “If I was lying on my deathbed and I had kept this secret and never ever did anything about it, I would be lying there saying, ‘You just blew your entire life.’” She also says in a behind-the-scenes video of her photoshoot with the magazine, “Bruce always had to tell a lie. He was always living that lie. Every day, he always had a secret, from morning till night. Caitlin doesn’t have any secrets.”
In her first hour of being on Twitter, Jenner gained more than a quarter of a million followers. Other than tweeting out the cover of Vanity Fair and her message about wanting everyone to “get to know her/me,” Jenner has yet to make any other public statements.
