Caitlyn Jenner Being Considered As Miss USA Pageant Judge
Caitlyn Jenner is being considered as a judge for the Miss USA Pageant. A spokesperson for the organization said in a statement that while Jenner has not confirmed her participation, they would like to have her. “The organization would indeed love to have her and are reaching out to make an offer,” the statement read. “The Miss Universe organization has allowed transgender women to participate in the Miss USA pageant since the organization changed its rules in 2012. It is currently the only pageant that welcomes transgender participants.”
As Gossip Cop reported, a video surfaced earlier this week in which Jenner’s stepson, Rob Kardashian, was seen asking contestant Olivia Culpo about the idea of a transgendered woman winning the Miss USA crown. The video was from 2012, three years before Jenner’s debut as a female, when Kardashian was asked to be a celebrity guest judge.
In the video, Kardashian is handed a Twitter question to ask Culpo. “There were a lot of questions that came in on this subject, and we chose this one,” began Kardashian, adding, “Would you feel it would be fair that a transgender woman wins the Miss USA title over a natural-born woman?”
After a slight hesitation, Culpo responded that while she understands some people may be “apprehensive” about it, she would “accept that because I believe it’s a free country.” The audience loved Culpo’s answer, and she ultimately went on to be crowned the winner of the 2012 pageant. What do you think about the Miss USA pageant reaching out to Caitlyn Jenner about being a judge?
