Caitlyn Jenner “Gas Station Meltdown” Claim NOT True
Caitlyn Jenner did NOT have a “meltdown” at a gas station, despite a ridiculously sensational story. Gossip Cop can debunk the claim.
RadarOnline blares in a dramatic headline, “SHOCKING VIDEO: Girl Gone Wild! Caitlyn Jenner CAUGHT In Bizarre Gas Station Meltdown.” The story starts off with a “graphic content” warning, and then says, “The Kardashian family is falling apart, and Caitlyn Jenner is clearly feeling the strain! The reality star turned trans icon was caught on video in a bizarre meltdown at a Malibu gas station on December 1.”
Readers are then urged to “watch her flipping out and yelling curse words!” So, what did the webloid manage to secretly capture? Well, the site has a seven-second video of Jenner standing next to her car as it fills up with gas.
Because she and other celebrities often can’t do even the simplest and most normal of things without being followed by intrusive paparazzi, a photographer is filming her doing the mundane activity. So, as the camera rolls on and on for no reason, Jenner asks, “Are you f*cking done?”
And THAT’S what RadarOnline is calling a “meltdown.” That’s what the webloid gave a “graphic content” warning. And that’s what the outlet touted as “shocking video.” Yet, of course, there was no meltdown, nothing graphic, and certainly nothing “shocking.”
The star was understandably not happy about being filmed in her private time. But you wouldn’t know that from the story, which was designed to trick people into believing Jenner was a “girl gone wild” and “caught in a bizarre gas station meltdown.” It’s not only clickbait, but as the seconds-long video shows, it’s not even remotely true.
