‘Dancing With The Stars’ Producer: Why Caitlyn Jenner Won’t Appear On ‘DWTS’ Yet
Caitlyn Jenner needs to get her personal life in order before being invited to appear on “Dancing with the Stars,” says the show’s casting director and co-executive producer Deena Katz. “I think Caitlyn would be great on the show,” Katz exclusively tells Gossip Cop, adding, “I think right now she needs to figure out her life. Trust me, we will be fighting for her at some point. But for now, let Caitlyn become Caitlyn.”
“Coming on ‘Dancing with the Stars’ is a big huge burst,” says Katz. She explains to Gossip Cop, “It kind of turns your life upside down. Let’s let her get her normal life before we disrupt it all over again, but she’d be great.”
Back in July, Gossip Cop busted an inaccurate report from RadarOnline, which claimed Jenner was offered a spot in the upcoming cast but “backed out at the last minute.” A spokesperson for the former Olympian exclusively told us, “There was no deal from which to bail,” and there was “no conversation” with producers about appearing on the show.
The ABC ballroom competition kicks off its 21st season on September 14. The first cast member is set to be announced on Monday’s “Good Morning America,” with additional celebrity participants to be named each day this week. Last week, longtime judge Len Goodman confirmed he will not be returning to the dance competition show.
