Caitlyn Jenner Did NOT “Back Out” Of “Dancing With The Stars” Deal, Despite Report (EXCLUSIVE)
Caitlyn Jenner did NOT “back out” of a “Dancing with the Stars” deal, because she was NEVER in talks in the first place. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust the inaccurate report, which comes from facts-challenged RadarOnline.
The webloid first floated the rumor that Jenner would compete on the new season of the ABC competition back in March. In fact, the clueless outlet even claimed Jenner, then still known as Bruce Jenner, planned to make her debut as a woman on the series. Jenner’s rep exclusively told Gossip Cop at the time that the allegations were “false,” and, as everyone now knows, Jenner officially transitioned with the release of her Vanity Fair cover story in June.
Now RadarOnline is either hoping readers forgot its previous screw-up, or is pathetically attempting to cover its butt for when Jenner is not named among the fall contestants. On Monday, the site started claiming the Olympian “‘came very close’ to signing a record-breaking deal” with the show, but “backed out at the last minute.” How convenient!
“At first, Caitlyn was so excited about it and nearly signed up straight away, but after careful thought and even trying out a few moves, she’s realized she was in over her head,” a so-called “insider” claims to RadarOnline. The supposed source cites changes in Jenner’s body “strength and abilities,” but alleges, “The biggest reason she pulled the plug on the deal is because she doesn’t want to be a laughingstock.”
News flash: RadarOnline, YOU are the laughingstock. Jenner never backed out of anything, because she was never in any “Dancing with the Stars” negotiations. Jenner’s spokesperson tells Gossip Cop exclusively, “There was no deal from which to bail,” and there was also “no conversation” whatsoever with producers about appearing on the show. Gossip Cop looks forward to correcting RadarOnline’s next story on this non-story.
