Busting Report that Charlie Sheen & Brooke Mueller “Might Lose Their Twins”

Once again, HollywoodLife has tried to create news where none exists.
And once again, it misses the mark.
In an “exclusive,” the site declared, “Brooke Mueller and Charlie Sheen Might Lose Their Twins, Max and Bob!”
But anyone looking for an actual story here will come up empty. “If [Mueller and Sheen] do separate in the wake of the messy domestic dispute that occurred over Christmas,” HollywoodLife explains, “Child services won’t be so quick to grant Brooke custody” of the one-year-old twins.
And why would a court declare Mueller unfit? Because “she’s checked herself into [a rehab facility] for alleged crack addiction,” according to the site.
HollywoodLife then trots out a random family attorney to say, “Child Protective Services looks at a few things, including the past history of parents and the current happenings,” and that it “obviously doesn’t look good” that Mueller is checking into a facility “that looks like rehab.”
The lawyer further explains that Sheen may be forced to file for divorce to keep the twins should there be a social services issue with Mueller. “It’s a thin line,” he says. “Charlie should be nervous.”
What makes Gossip Cop nervous is HollywoodLife’s habit of playing alarmist.
There’s been no discussion of divorce.
There’s no truth to the allegations that Mueller is being rehabilitated for crack addiction.
There’s nothing to back up the site’s claim that Sheen himself may have “relapsed” and that both parents “could both be deemed unfit.”
It’s just another case of unfounded speculation from a site that loves to have “exclusive!” information, even if it’s “exclusive”-ly wrong.
