Bruno Mars Charged with Felony Possession

Bruno Mars has been officially charged with a count of felony possession of a controlled substance, stemming from his arrest last month in a bathroom at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.
The “Just the Way You Are” singer-songwriter, whose real name is Peter Hernandez, handed a bag of cocaine to the arresting officer, telling the cop that he made a stupid mistake and had never used drugs before.
If convicted, Mars could be behind bars for a minimum of one year and a maximum of four years, as well as have to pay a $5,000 fine.
But Gossip Cop spoke to law enforcement officials in Nevada who told us that since Mars doesn’t seem to have any priors, he will almost assuredly receive mandatory probation.
Of course, if he violates his probation down the road, then a sentence can be imposed.
That’s incentive enough to – pardon the pun – keep his nose clean.
Mars’ arraignment is slated for November 18.
