Bruce Jenner’s Mom: I’m “Proud” Of His Transition, “Love Him Like I Always Have”
Bruce Jenner’s mother Esther has confirmed that he is transitioning to become a woman. After months of speculation, last week news broke that the former Olympic hero and current reality TV star had told family members of his “journey” and was prepping an E! docu-series about it. The transition reportedly began more than a year ago, and now it appears Jenner’s mom has opened up about the situation in a new interview.
“I just learned about [his transition],” she tells RadarOnline. “Bruce filled me in, and we had a very long, long, long talk about it.” Esther adds, “I have never been more proud of Bruce for who he is, himself as a father, as an Olympian, a wonderful public speaker. He instills enthusiasm in people. He’s gifted.”
She’s further quoted as saying, “Right now I am more proud of him for what he’s allowing himself to do. I am more proud of him now than when he stood on that podium and put the gold medal around his neck. He deserves all the respect.” Esther tells the outlet, “I support him whole-heartedly. I just love him like I always have.”
It had been reported that various family members would begin to speak out as Jenner’s docu-series nears. Stay tuned for more updates. What do you think about what Esther says about Bruce’s transition?
