Bruce Jenner Was NOT Under Influence Of Drugs Or Alcohol At Time Of Deadly Crash
Bruce Jenner was NOT under the influence of alcohol, prescription drugs or anything else when he was involved in a deadly car accident on Saturday. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has determined that Jenner had nothing that would impair his driving in his system, according to field sobriety and blood tests.
There had been speculation by some sensational outlets that Jenner could have been affected by hormonal pharmaceuticals, which he is rumored (but not confirmed) to be taking as he transitions genders. But as one official tells TMZ, “He was balanced out. He wasn’t under the influence. We know that.”
A 69-year-old woman named Kim Howe was killed in the accident, which is still being investigated. She was behind the wheel of a Lexus on the Pacific Coast Highway when the Toyota Prius ahead of her stopped and she slammed into it. Jenner, driving a Cadillac Escalade behind Howe, crashed into her, sending Howe’s car into oncoming traffic, where a Hummer collided with it.
Jenner claimed at the scene that paparazzi were chasing him and contributed to the chaos, although law enforcement officials are not sure how much of a role the cameramen played. Jenner has said that he wasn’t texting at the time of the collision, and has volunteered to show investigators his cell phone records as proof.
On Sunday, the former Olympian and reality TV star issued a statement expressing his sorrow: “My heartfelt and deepest sympathies go out to the family and loved ones, and to all of those who were involved or injured in this terrible accident. It is a devastating tragedy and I cannot pretend to imagine what this family is going through at this time. I am praying for them. I will continue to cooperate in every way possible.” Gossip Cop will have updates.
