Britney Spears Cancels Two Las Vegas Shows After Foot Injury
Britney Spears has had to cancel two of her “Piece of Me” Las Vegas concerts after spraining her ankle during a performance on Wednesday, Gossip Cop confirms. As Gossip Cop reported, Spears injured herself while finishing up her song “(You Drive Me) Crazy.” The singer moved the wrong way at the end of the routine, resulting in her twisting her ankle.
In a statement sent to Gossip Cop, a rep for The AXIS at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, said,”Britney injured her ankle during her performance Wednesday evening and her doctor has advised her not to perform Friday and Saturday evening so that she may heal.”
In video of the accident (below), Spears can be seen wincing in pain following the mishap. Right after hurting herself, she fell to the ground, where she massaged her foot and continued singing, despite the injury. Spears thanked her fans for the well wishes following the accident. “Thank you for all of the sweet wishes!” she tweeted. “Had a little scare on stage tonight with my ankle but I’m ok!”
But later a doctor examined the singer, and recommended she get off her foot for a few days. “Breaks my heart to share this news. After hurting my ankle last night my doctor has advised me not to perform this weekend #Heartbroken,” Spears tweeted Thursday night with a crying emoji. She added, “Your kind words mean everything to me! I’m rescheduling this weekend’s shows and will let ya’ll know when we have the new dates. xoxo.” See video of the incident below.
