Britney Spears Extends Las Vegas Residency, Reveals She Tore Ligaments In “Embarrassing” Stage Fall (VIDEO)
Britney Spears is extending her Las Vegas residency for three more months. The pop star made the announcement on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday, while giving fans an update on her injured ankle. Watch the video below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Spears fell and hurt her ankle last week during one of her “Piece of Me” shows at The AXIS auditorium inside Planet Hollywood Resort and Casino. Shortly after the concert, Spears tweeted that her ankle was doing okay, but a doctor’s examination revealed the injury was worse than she thought. The star was forced to wear a boot on her foot and therefore had to cancel her weekend shows, although she was later photographed seemingly playing around at the beach.
While on “Ellen,” Spears revealed that she actually “tore some ligaments” in her foot. “I was just kind of bopping around. And I’ve done like eight years worth of shows,” said Spears, adding, “Plenty of shows! And I’ve never actually fell onstage so it was really kind of embarrassing. But yeah, I fell down and I got back up, and my dancers kind of guided me to keep going.”
Due to the injury, Spears said that she’s going to extend her Las Vegas residency for three more months and was adding new shows running through the end of December. Watch Spears on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” below, and tell us what you think.
