Britney Spears will reportedly remain under the conservatorship created in January 2008 to guide her personal and financial life.

Despite speculation that her status would change, there are no plans to give Spears legal independence, according to TMZ, which claims the pop star is “content” with the current arrangement.

Technically, Spears is subject to a personal conservatorship and a separate conservatorship for her business affairs.

Her father, Jamie Spears, has assumed legal authority in recent years. Now it appears that his formal guidance will remain in place for 2011 and possibly beyond.
