Britney Spears NOT Banned From Dating, Despite Report (EXCLUSIVE)
Britney Spears has NOT been banned from dating, despite a report from a magazine that tried peddling the same misinformation nearly a year ago. Once again, Gossip Cop can exclusively correct the story.
According to OK!, Spears’ dad Jamie “wants her to steer clear of guys for six months.” A so-called “insider” alleges to the tabloid, “Jamie wants her to rebuild her confidence after breaking up with Charlie [Ebersol].” The problem, claims the source, is that Spears “wants to find a man right away,” while her father is “worried she’ll crash and burn again.”
Papa Spears is now supposedly having “bodyguards with her all the time, to protect her and keep tabs on what she does.” Meanwhile, the OK! source alleges Spears “isn’t giving in,” and “pushes her dad every day, saying that a new guy will help her forget about Charlie.” Bittersweet, right?
Try unoriginal and untrue. In mid-September 2014, almost exactly a year ago, OK! also claimed Spears was under a “dating ban,” and was forbidden from seeing anyone romantically for the next “six months” in the wake of her breakup with David Lucado. Gossip Cop promptly busted the erroneous claim, and apparently the outlet was now hoping that readers had forgotten it previously tried to peddle this crap.
And, for the record, Gossip Cop is exclusively told the allegations aren’t any more true now that they were back then. What’s makes it even more amusing, though, that OK! again tried to convince people Spears has been forced to take “break from boys” is that just a few weeks ago, the tabloid (falsely) said her dad was forcing her to date Colin Farrell. When we busted that story in late July, we gave OK! credit for at least not recycling its lies.
Pathetically, OK! has now done just that. If Gossip Cop didn’t know better, we’d say we were getting trolled. Unfortunately, the magazine’s “reporting” really is just that bad.
