Brian Johnson And Joshua Davis The Voice Battle Video: Moving Duet Leads To Steal!
Brian Johnson and Joshua Davis faced off during “The Voice” season 8 Battle round on Monday. The showdown was actually quite emotional and there was a steal in the final moments. Watch below!
Blake Shelton explained he chose these two contestants to go head to head because they both auditioned with classic songs. Along with guest advisor Meghan Trainor, Shelton chose to continue the theme with “Knockin’ On Heaven’s Tour.” The rehearsals got off to a rocky start, but ultimately wowed Trainor to the point of tears.
After Johnson and Davis jointly performed in a stripped-down, acoustic format that was incredibly powerful and moving, Shelton not only gave a standing ovation, but Adam Levine did, too. After both Christina Aguilera and Pharrell both declined to weigh in on who was better, Levine told the artists, “They’re not saying who [they’d] pick because they both know one of you will be stolen.”
And, of course, he was right. After Shelton declared Johnson was the winner, Davis was available to steal, and Levine wasted no time pressing his button. “Just get out of here before someone else pushes!” Levine yelled. “I’ll talk to you later! Go! Run! Run!” Thankfully for Levine, it didn’t turn into a three-way coaches battle like the competition to steal Ashley Morgan.
