Though he currently remains hospitalized after suffering a brain hemorrhage last week, Bret Michaels hopes to resume touring May 26.

The musician-turned-reality-star “is responding well to tests and treatments,” according to an official update on his Facebook page, but concert dates prior to May 26 will be rescheduled.

Michaels is still being closely monitored and the cause of the hemorrhage has yet to be determined. Yesterday Michaels suffered a complication known as hyponatremia, or seizures caused by a lack of sodium in the body.

“Even though yesterday was a minor setback,” the update reads, “Doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday.”

“To all of Bret’s friends and fans,”

“We thank you all for your continued support and outpouring of well wishes for Bret.”

“While additional studies are planned throughout the week to hopefully detect the exact cause of the rupture Bret will remain monitored closely by his medical team to make sure no further complications occur.”

“He is responding well to tests and treatments. Even though yesterday was a minor setback Doctors remain hopeful for a full recovery and plan to release more specific information next Monday. ”

“While Bret is recovering we obviously have some shows that are being rescheduled. We are working to reschedule dates from now until May 21st. At this time we are planning to resume the tour May 26th in Ft. Smith Arkansas provided there are no further complications or setbacks. We will then continue with all scheduled dates throughout the summer and fall, including the June and July tour with Lynyrd Skynyrd.”

“Look for additional information in the days and weeks to come. For those of you with tickets for shows that are being rescheduled, your tickets will be honored on the new dates. Tickets remain on sale for the shows which are being rescheduled although the new dates have yet to be announced.”

Wow, that seems pretty fast to me. Hope they know what they’re doing and Brett dosen’t push himself.

This is overly optimistic thinking. This is an extremely serious condition. There is no way he could tour in a month. They don’t even have an exact cause of the rupture.

I don’t think this will happen. It’s way too soon, and not in Bret’s best interest. I certainly hope that someone puts a stop to this entire tour. Bret I would think needs time to recover from this. His doctors would be irresponsible to release him knowing these are his plans.
