As we reported earlier, a record-setting night turned into a record-setting day for “The Twilight Saga: New Moon.”

Estimates place the film’s November 20 take at a staggering $72.7 million, beating the incredible first days by “The Dark Knight” and “Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.”

Gossip Cop will follow the box office as more records (may) fall this weekend.

If you were among the millions who streamed into theaters for “New Moon” since midnight Thursday, we’d like to know what you thought.

Me and my DD just saw New Moon!!! It was soooo good!!!!! Robert is beautiful of course, but, I thought the whole cast was incredible. It is definitely Taylor’s time to shine and Kristen did a fabulous performance too, of course. It had comedy, sadness, suspense and just a wonderful story. I thought Chris did a great job of bringing story lines together that might have been hard to show from the book. I also felt like for the viewer who has not read New Moon yet, this movie tells the story but, will also prompt them to want to read it. It was so awesome! I will be heading back to the theatre again!!!

    Great movie :)
I totally agree with Suefromnc :) I really like the running sceens much better. The flow of the movie was fantastic and left you wanting more :) I liked Twilight, but it could have been better; but I love New Moon :) I am so glad the director was changed and Chris kept the orginal cast from the Twilight movie :) I am heading back as soon as possible :) I can’t put enough smileys to express how I really liked this movie and can’t wait for Eclipse :)

I liked the movie, acting was good the only complaint that i have is the makeup would have liked that the cullens eyes must have been the same as in twilight, but overall great

Loved it and Kristen for me was the stand out star of the show, I know its meant to be Taylor etc but nahhhh Kristens performance was outstanding and she portrayed every emotion by the book and I felt her pain, so did half the cinema when they reached for their tissues at the break up and when shes in her room with the passing months. Loved the reunion in the Volturi hallway too. Painfully breathtaking.

My friends and I must have seen an entirely different film in the UK. Rob and the Cullens’ white faces and red lips made them look like clowns and Rob looked as if he was wearing one of those skelton suits people wear for Halloween in the Volterra scene. The cinema went into hysterical laughter when Alice revealed to Aro that Bella would become a vampire and then R/K slow-motioned across the screen, and KS has to be one of the most boring actresses on the planet. Her expressionless face and monotone voice ruined the film. Taylor was fantastic however. There also wasn’t enough of Billy Burke in the film. I certainly didn’t see anyone reaching for their tissues in the break-up scene; the only thing I noticed was the make-up artist had managed to make one of the most gorgeous men on the planet look ugly. However, the reunion scene was quite touching although too short and the werewolves were pretty good. Having seen Twilight around 20 times we walked out of this film thinking we’d want to be paid to sit through New Moon again. Monumental disappointment. However, since C Weitz directed American Pie it shouldn’t have been any surprise that his directing was a poor fit with the story. Thank heavens Rob won’t be in white facepaint and red lips in Remember Me.
