With news that Breaking Dawn is being adapted into two films also comes word that Summit is definitely considering doing the fourth and fifth pictures in 3-D.

It’s now official.

Breaking Dawn will be two movies.

Summit Entertainment confirmed today that THE TWILIGHT SAGA: BREAKING DAWN will be released as two separate films with the first of the two slated to be released in theatres on November 18, 2011.

Bill Condon will direct both movies.

Among major cast returning: Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner along with Peter Facinelli as Carlisle, Elizabeth Reaser as Esme, Jackson Rathbone as Jasper, Nikki Reed as Rosalie, Ashley Greene as Alice and Kellan Lutz as Emmett.

Production begins in the fall.

The project, based on the fourth novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is currently being written by Melissa Rosenberg.

Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt and Stephenie Meyer are producing.

    i think it’s stupid. Ok the book have alot of content but not enough for 2 movies. Make a 3 hours movie and it’s gonna be fine. Why wait that long for a second part? oh well, it’s their decision and I can understand because it’s more money in their pocket. 2 movies it’s worth much more money at the end. it’s all about money.

    And in these days .. more confirmations from the cast during the interviews to the MTV Movie RD

    Very disappointed to hear it will be 2 movies and in 3D–this is NOT a sci-fi horror flick!!! Renesmee’s birth is gory but it certainly does call for it to be in 3D to get the full effect!!! Wow Summit are you that hungry for money????

    3D! Are you kidding me! Why ruin a good movie? I get it’s supposed to be a “gory” movie, but there’s no need to go over and destroy it! We need to start a riot! I’m not even kidding. But, I guess it is all for the money. Honestly, they’re going to get less if they do 3D then not, not much people like 3D, and defenitly not to ruin such a perfectly narly movie!
