ESTIMATES: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 Could Hit $125 Million Opening Weekend

(Summit)

According to reported early studio estimates, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is primed to earn more than $110 million in its opening weekend at the domestic box office.

Some projections have the fourth film in the series hitting the $125 million mark.

Either figure would make Breaking Dawn the easy weekend winner and give it the second-highest opening in the franchise’s history, behind only New Moon, which racked up $142.8 million when it debuted almost exactly two years ago.

Last weekend’s champ, Immortals, debuted to $32.2 million.

Breaking Dawn is slated to debut in 4,061 theaters across North America on Friday.

The initial projections are being reported by Deadline.

Gossip Cop will have updated box office estimates later this week.

Last night someone said breaking dawn cost $263 million to make. $100 million more than the cost of all the other twi pictures. If thats true it will have to make plenty serious money to recoup its costs. Well I hope it does that and more.

I think that the 263 million figure was for part 1 and part 2 combined. But I am hoping it will surpass the amount that New Moon made which was almost 800 million worldwide.

I went to the premiere and enjoyed the movie immensely and this is from someone who disliked the book except for the first 80 pages. I know people who also were at the premiere have stated they will be attending midnight showings plus attend other showings during the weekend.. I will be one of those people attending more showings of the film. Personally I believe this is the best of the Twilight films. The chemistry of Bella and Edward are amazing and we had men in the audience doing all the shout-outs during the film and it was all positive. It will break the New Moon record, I am certain. See it, you will not be disappointed.

I went to the LA premiere and got tickets to see the movie as well. It was EPIC! Every character portrayal was amazing and it was filmed beautifully. The fans will love it! The wedding, the birth scene, the wolves, the family dynamic…. all of it was done perfectly.

Do you think Condon was a better director than Hardwicke. I really loved the first twilight. Does the movie hold you from start to finish and is the honeymoon scene blurred for pg13..Is the birth scene gross. Rob said that he is a wimp in this film. Was he kidding…

I don’t want to spoil the movie for you by telling you too much, I will say before BD, Twilight was my favorite movie of the saga. One film looks Indie, BD looks like a studio picture, the cinematography was beautiful. The movie holds you from the beginning to end. I think it went too fast, they could of added more, but it is fast paced, so you won’t be bored. I wish there was more for the honeymoon but what they did at least will satisfy the fans of the Twilight Saga. As for the birth scene, it is to each his own whether they feel it was too groos or not. Some of my friends thought it was gross and others did not. Go and see it, as I said you will not be disappointed. It is wonderful to see the love between Bella and Edward in this film.
