Brad Pitt’s Wrinkles “Killing” His Career?

Truth rating: 0

(GettyImages.com)

Is Brad Pitt getting too old?

According to the National Enquirer, the actor’s reps say the poor box office showing for his latest movie Killing Them Softly is “all his fault.”

“They’re telling the star that his stubborn insistence on letting his facial wrinkles show is killing his career — because fans are shocked by the sudden loss of his boyish good looks,” explains the tabloid.

The Enquirer claims “trouble started” with Pitt’s Chanel No. 5 ad campaign, which featured posters “showing him looking weathered and aged — all because he refused to allow any photo retouching.”

Pitt also allegedly rejected attempts to film Killing Them Softly with a soft focus lens, purportedly saying he wanted “to keep it real.”

Keeping it “real” is something that’s often a problem for the Enquirer.

Because this story — like so much of what the tabloid’s been publishing about Pitt recently — is totally fabricated.

While it’s (obviously) true that Pitt is getting older, the notion that he clashed with filmmakers and his own reps over his wrinkles is completely false.

Pitt’s face did not change overnight, no one is “shocked” by his appearance, and a source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop the Enquirer’s report is “wildly off base.”

Good looking guy, but the greasy long hair looks creepy.

  • Rose

    Looks pretty wrinkly to me.

  • Jamie T

Boyish looks are gross, give me a real man

  • guest

Well the guy is turning 50 this year and his age is beginning to show, but what does anyone expect this is what happens as you get older.

  • Brad’s just fine

I would rather see someone age with grace, than go under the knife or inject crap into their face. Brad is a good actor, who does not need to look plastic to do his job.

  • imo

Looks have nothing to do with it, they are both still attractive when they clean up. The relationship drama is what made this couple (and yes, the other party too) so famous, neither are great actors, good but not great. She got an Oscar for playing a crazy person, not a big stretch for her at that point in her life. The drama has ran it’s course, several times too many, and with this couple being shoved down everyone’s throat every time there is so much as a commercial to promote, people are getting sick of them. I mean come on, she’s no Meryl Streep and he’s no Denzel Washington. Don’t expect a movie eiather are in to be a hit just because they are in it.

  • Not buying it

I think he has recently had something done to his face. He is less wrinkly now but I do think his career suffers from his aging because his fans don’t want old ugly Brad Pitt. They want him to stay forever young.

  • Seriously

I think people are just generally sick of him. He talks endlessly about his personal life so there is no real mystery anymore. He looks like he hasn’t showered in weeks, so he’s not really good looking anymore either. He certainly has not aged as well as Clooney or Denzel Washington.

And a real movie star brings people in on opening weekend, no matter what the reviews are. Despite good reviews, Brad couldn’t manage it this time around. We’ll see how the Zombie movie does. With a $300 million budget and another $200 million in marketing that will be spent he’s got to bring a lot of people into the theater for that. So you know he’ll be exploiting the kids, his relationship with Jolie AND his charity work for most of the summer. I think people are sick and tired of hearing about it, but we’ll see.

  • mslewis

I guess NE would rather see a smooth-faced Brad Pitt so they can report on how much botox he uses. First of all “Killing Them Softly” was a small movie that cost about $30M to film and has made its money back (and will probably make a profit with cable and DVD sales) so it is not a “bomb” at all. Second, Chanel is VERY pleased with its Brad Pitt commercials because sales have gone up more than 18% since the commercials were introduced. So, no, Brad’s fans are still his fans. Why aren’t we hearing these types of stories about Clooney? He hasn’t had a hit movie in years. Some of his movies are critically acclaimed but they don’t make much money. And, no he has not aged better than Brad. And we’ll see how well or not Brad’s zombie movies does. In my opinion, the two trailers look pretty good but who knows? It could be awful or it could turn out to be like “Titanic” when everybody decided months before it’s release that it would tank at the BO. “Everybody” was wrong!!

  • None of your business

As a rising actress speaking I see him as inspiration for young serious actors and I think his work is unexplainable and astonishing not something you’d see on the streets and ye he has aged a lot but that should not effect his career not now not ever maybe it will make him try older roles but I believe who ever thinks this might affect his career would be ashamed of themselves people don’t judge by your age or look but talent
Without talent you will be nothing as an actor and won’t succeed much
I love acting and its one of the key things I’m taking on in life and I hope I become like brad or a jolie one day they are the real inspiration

  • setha2z

In our culture, men’s looks are considered to acquire “character” with age so that all that is required for ordinary roles is a little more makeup, it seems to me. The standards for women are much less forgiving, and it is very common for invasive procedures to be applied to them for equivalent roles. Actors like Brad Pitt and George Clooney and Paul Newman are, or were, so handsome and such good actors to start with, that I wouldn’t change a thing as they age. Just Play ‘N Pay.

You are a seriously deluded troll.

Clooney has had work done but that is another story. Compare Brad to most 49 year olds and he looks great in comparison. The fact that he is being trashed for not being a perfect looking pretty boy anymore is just ludicrous. Most men would be blessed if they still looked as good as him in this age. Not to mention, his recent hairstyle and appearance was due to his roles in his two films. I don’t see people trashing Johnny Depp or other actors who had this kind of appearance for years with the unkempt look with the long hair and etc.

Brad looks fine for his age. This ridiculous nit-picking angle by the tabloids over his looks is quite obnoxious and shallow. Of course, the haters are thriving on this bs. He is aging naturally and I respect him for it. He is going to have some wrinkles.

  • http://twitter.com/Miadodi Anon

The only drama being created are by the sheep who jumped on a corrupt media bandwagon who keep feeding into manipulation, spin, and negativity because they chose to believe lies and operate on misconceptions. The overexposure is completely orchestrated by the press considering they engage in far less promotion than most of their colleagues. Even when they manage to be under the radar, the tabloids will make up salacious stories that tabloid sheep will foam at the mouth over. There wasn’t never any true drama there.

It is also ridiculous and unfounded to falsely claim the fictional triangle created by tabloids made them famous when both Brad and Angelina were incredibly famous and accomplished A-list actors before 2005. They were internationally well-known and had stature way before they became an item. The trolls have selective amnesia or they block out the evidence that would make them face reality.

I guess their detractors wipe out everything about them as people and actors before then because they only function on the pseudo-scandal that was manufactured by tabloids and gossip-mongers. Brad was the beloved golden boy of Hollywood for a long time, way back in 1994 he emerged as a huge popular star. People fell in love with his personality, charisma, and genuine appeal. The public has been fascinated with him for ages,…for nearly two decades. His reputation became tarnished wrongly by the accusations but his career and work has still continued to thrive regardless because not everybody is ignorant enough to buy into media corruption. His actual behavior, personal life, and activities contradict the negative image he has been branded with.

People just block out Thelma & Louise, Kalifornia, The River Runs Through It, Legends of the Fall, Interview with a Vampire, Seven Years of Tibet, Seven, Sleepers, True Romance, Spy Game, Twelve Monkeys, Fight Club, Ocean’s Eleven, and etc. Angelina was an it-girl and star way before Brad entered the picture.

Give me a break. He has had no work done. It is obvious he has been aging naturally unlike certain other people. When he looks good, you have the nerve to make false claims about surgery when he is being wrongly ambushed over his appearance.

He is not ugly and he is not that old. Quit being shallow and ageist. No, his fans just want him to be involved in good films and impress us with his performances. We just expect quality from him because we have high standards. We want him to live the best life as possible and maintain his great relationship.

People are exaggerating when it comes to his wrinkles. His age lines and wrinkles are natural for his age. He can’t look like a male model now, that doesn’t mean he has lost his looks for pete’s sakes.

  • Guest

Absolutely true! He does not need to have a face that has been “regenerated” like Joan Rivers and so many others. They look ridiculous with smooth faces when they are in their 80′s. And what must their bodies look like? That would make me sick! A weathered looking Brad will be just as handsome when is 60 or 70! At least to those of us who don’t expect the men we admire to look 23 forever!

  • 55vineyard

The wrinkles do not bother me, after all he is not in his 20s, shoot I have wrinkles also.
What I do not like is the long hair and facial hair, it just does not look good. Also he needs to take a shower.

  • Rose

You really should get a life.

  • Rose

    Truly, a life.

  • http://twitter.com/Miadodi Anon

Maybe you should apply this phrase to yourself since you took the time just to heckle me. You are a hypocrite.

Just because I responded with a long post which was offering a rebuttal to somebody else trashing them…doesn’t mean I need to get a life. Trolls like you seriously need to come up with new material. You have no legit comeback to the truth so you come up with lame responses like a ‘get a life’.

Funny, you don’t say this to the trolls who take the time to post bs and insults. Then again, that describes you since you chose to support the tabloid article. Then you replied just to say he looks wrinkly and then post two times just to tell me to get a life. Maybe you should make better use of your time instead of trolling people in a juvenile way when they actually make valuable commentary responding to haters who spout lies.

  • http://twitter.com/Miadodi Anon

Wow, the same lame comebacks because I responded with facts and an in-depth post against people who posted unfounded hatred and insults that goes against reality.

You are the one who needs to get a life.

  • http://www.facebook.com/dick.hunter.3998 Dick Hunter

Wow! Very well put Anon! (standing ovation)

  • imo

Anon, you are really way too emotionally invested in people you don’t even know. I lost interest in reading your “article” so I’m really not sure what all you said. Yes, they were well known actors before that but not tabloid chasing 50 articles a day popular. What were ALL the stories about? The three of them. Look it up. 97% of them are going to be about the love triangle, because that’s what people wanted to read because that’s why they were so interested. And you can say all you want but in reality, they are not stellar actors to anyone but their obsessive fans. You are entiltled to your own opinion but when anyone writes such long responses/comments about people that, again, they don’t know it makes them look a few crayons short of a box and any rational response you may have had is immediately lost in the overdone ridiculousness of it. These are comments, not biographies, calm down.

  • imo

Ok, curiosity got the better of me and I read your many posts. We all go on these sites for entertainment and there is nothing wrong with commenting and sharing your thoughts. You are obviously really obsessed with these people to the point that you are feeling emotionally attacked with any negative posts about these two strangers. That is not mentally healthy. I’m not trying to be mean because it really sounds like you have a problem, but you know their public personas, not them. While I don’t know you, you have made it quite clear that too much of your life is devoted to this. Get a hobby, read a book, realize that Brangelina is not your BFF who will be showing up for dinner in thanks for your undying devotion and defense.

  • http://twitter.com/Miadodi Anon

You are an ultimate example of hypocrisy. You seem to be too emotionally invested in this as well since you are trolling me and you under different names have responded multiple times. You are now being obsessive against me defending them.

You don’t know me or what I know about them. This is not entertainment. Slandering people is wrong. The level of misconceptions and media corruption at their expense is out of control. Now you are trying to misdiagnose me as mentally ill for speaking out against them which is truly vile. You are part of a large faction of people who have become addicted to trash-talking and cyber-bullying people for understanding the truth and speaking out against lies that have had an extremely negative impact on our society. Spare me your lectures. I said or did nothing wrong. I have been attacked ruthlessly over the years by people like you.

If this was no concern to you, why even bother to respond?

  • http://twitter.com/Miadodi Anon

Once again, you have no knowledge or understanding of whether I know them or not.

You are the spouting unfounded hatred, inaccuracies, and lies as if they were facts but now you are perversely trying to misportray me as crazy for defending them in an in-depth and concise manner.

My responses are longer because I am offering rebuttals against the slander and clarifying it with actual legit commentary with information and actual insight into reality. Obviously, I touched a nerve. It is the actual information and truth behind commentaries that matter.

You are an obsessive hater and are operating on misconceptions. You post repeatedly just to attack them with utter nonsense. This lynch mob-mentality has got to stop since this entire groupthink movement stemmed from a false accusation. You made the effort to comment just to blindly trash them because it was made fashionable by the tabloids. You are basically acting like my posts lack credibility just because they are longer?! Give me a break. Then you act like it is crazy for me to defend them against trolls and haters like you who trash them on every site by increasing the level of unfounded hatred.

The purpose of this site is to debunk gossip and lies, not to engage in mocking for the fun of it.

People like you respond in such an outrageous way where I have to use longer posts to make solid points. You buy into tabloid drivel and base your attitudes based on that judging from your posts.

Now you are blaming Brad and Angelina for the media’s corruption and for them being tabloid targets when most of it is negative and destructive. The media and his ex continue to profit and benefit because of people like you who continue to operate into this pseudo-triangle nonsense that was a fabrication.

Brad and Angelina were established A-listers with noteworthy careers way before 2005. They were famous, popular, and accomplished way before the infamous accusation and triangle. He has been a major movie star that the world has been fascinated with since 1994 which pre-dates his relationships with Aniston and Jolie. Brad and Angelina were objects of tabloid articles and personal speculation way before 2005.

Then you wonder why my posts are so long because I have to use facts and viable opinions about their careers to back it up when I respond to ignorant haters like you who post rubbish that contradict the truth. I already repeatedly addressed this point but yet you bring it up again.

Once again, you trash their careers and only judge them over how the tabloids misportray them. You are obviously a fan of his ex because you don’t apply the triangle logic making them more famous to her. Not to mention, the pseudo-triangle story ended over seven years ago but tabloid sheep like you continue to give mileage to it. I am trying to stop that.

I already went into a diatribe and summarized a discussion of their careers that refute this point. No, you lack credibility because you only chose to form your judgement and opinions based on the tabloid accounts of the triangle that are based on lies and spin. Then you dislike them over it and attack their acting abilities due to your bias.

  • Jerry

I think the reason why brad has aged is because he smoked ciggerettes & drank alcohol then combine that with 20 hour a day film shoots that shit has gotta eventually catch up with a person but brad has had an amazing career he is very lucky most actors don’t even get that far!!!!!!!

  • Alice

In regards to looks alone he was in his prime in Fight Club. Unfortunately we all can’t be young forever. It is only a matter of time before men are judged just as harshly as women when it comes to looks. I can see it starting as everyone is obsessed with young male and female actors. I actually think its a good thing for men to have a taste of what we women have had to put up with for centuries. Brad Pitt is an incredible actor – there is no denying that – but there are so many amazing female actresses in their 40s who can’t find work because they aren’t young anymore. Its sad but true and i don’t agree with it. Well boys welcome to the club.

  • WrinklesMcgee

What the hell are you people talking about? Brad Pitt has BARELY aged at all. Wrinkles? pft. Hardly. He’s in his late 40s and still has perfect hair (no baldness or recession). This is extremely rare for a middle aged white guy. Take a look a round. Not to mention he’s still ripped.
Get off of Brad Pitt’s nuts.
