E! News is a bit behind. The newspaper printed a second editor’s note, clarifying that the letter writer was, indeed, Brad Pitt’s mother Jane.

Right away people are jumping to conclusions – the wrong one. I don’t believe Brad’s mom would write that letter.

He does not hold the same viewpoint as his parents and holds some different belief systems than them. Brad and Angelina have been strong advocates of this civil rights legislation.

Brad Pitt has been very outspoken about support same-sex marriage and gay rights in numerous interviews and has genuinely displayed a very strong stance about it. He has numerous gay friends like Melissa Etheridge. He has donated so much money to end Proposition 8. There are numerous validated accounts of this. Both Brad and Angelina donate to GLAAD. Angelina was bisexual. It is utter nonsense to claim he secretly is anti-gay. He was involved in the theatrical production. You are labeling him as standard just because he is a liberal. Fellow Catholic here so I’m curious given your positions on the Church how you feel about the following: A nun in Arizona who served on the ethics board of a Catholic hospital was ex-communicated from the church for agreeing to allow an abortion in the hospital under the following circumstances – the fetus had a 0% of surviving and the mother only had a 5% chance of surviving without an abortion. The abortion saved the mother’s life and didn’t kill the fetus as its demise was imminent – it more hastened the demise. On the flip side, the Church is currently undergoing financial scandal and fraud in Rome, all perpetrated by men, and has time and time again covered up for priests who sexually abused children, most of whom were little boys and thus invoking homosexual issues in addition to the child abuse issues. Not a single priest was ex-communicated for this. And I’m not even going into the Church’s current treatment of American nuns. As a woman and a Catholic, I find that I have faith in the religion but not in the Church as an institution. It is hard to say I have faith in the Church’s current moral compass, particularly when it concerns women as the Church is waving neon banners advertising its misogony.

Some of the nicest and best parents I know have the craziest little leftest radicals I’ve ever seen. They are incapable of considering that many older people disagree with them and the most intolerant little brats I have ever witnessed. The paper initially retracted that it was Brad’s mom, did some more research and then retracted their retraction stating that yes indeed the author of the letter is indeed Brad Pitt’s mom. Not a big deal though as it only shows that both Brad and his mom are individuals with their own opinions.

I’m sure a lady who has no hesitation writing an open letter like this to the newspaper would not hide her views from her family. All families have topics they need to agree to disagree on, this is no different. The “interesting conversation” has probably happened a while ago and more than once.

Pitt’s parents are devout Christians and very good people,not met Brad’s mom Jane but went to HS w Bill Pitt,Brad’s dad,super person,intelligent and strong religeous views.Bill & Jane graduated from OBU a Baptist college so entirely possible that Mrs. Pitt stated her views.Being brought up in Bible Belt entirely possible that those views by Jane Pitt are accurate and great many people agree with her views,including me.

Dede’s gay husband Greg had a vasectomy 23 years ago. And Dede is pregnant. With twins. Not only that, she’s been pregnant for well over a year now, since March 2012. How truly amazing is that?! But unfortunately, Dede has not seen a doctor and they’ve made no plans for birth.
