Brad Pitt congratulated George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin on their engagement, claims the National Enquirer, by jokingly sending “an antique horse collar wrapped around a photo of George.”

According to the tab, the gift came with a card that read, “To my friend George, who will soon have to wear one of these full-time when he gets hitched. Sorry, but I couldn’t find anything for the horse’s other end!”

The mag then quotes a so-called source as saying, “Clooney thought the gift was hysterical, but Amal just did not see the humor.”

Of course, the Enquirer is the same tabloid that wrongly reported last week that Clooney had been involved in a “cheating bombshell,” and has been off-base about the Oscar-winner over and over again.

A rep for Clooney tells Gossip Cop the latest Enquirer piece is “completely fabricated.”

Or, in keeping with the tab’s equestrian narrative, what we like to call “horses**t.”
