Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie NOT Fighting Over Painting, Despite Report
According to Life & Style, in addition to fighting over the custody of their six children, Jolie and Pitt or now squaring off over a “pricey painting by Winston Churchill.” The magazine alleges Jolie contends the painting, titled “The Tower of Katoubia Mosque,” was a gift from Pitt, and “she wants the painting as part of the divorce settlement.” The tabloid’s so-called “insider” claims he wants the picture as well. “Brad keeps it at his home in LA. It’s part of his and Angie’s joint art collection, he’s particularly fond of it, and he is not going to let it go easily,” adds the publication’s supposed source.
Despite the tabloid’s cutesy wordplay about Pitt and Jolie having an “ugly war over a pretty painting,” there is no truth to the magazine’s false report. A source close to the situation tells Gossip Cop there’s no fighting over the painting. While our impeccable insider would not go into specifics, it seems much of the issues involving money and marital property have been worked out.
Of course, we’re not entirely surprised that the tabloid is wrong. Gossip Cop has corrected the publication on numerous occasions for its inaccurate reporting about the estranged spouses, including a tale about Jolie fighting with Pitt over alleged phone calls with Jennifer Aniston. At the time, a Pitt confidante assured us there were no “secret calls” between the actor and his ex-wife, and Aniston’s rep also told us the claim was “made up.” Gossip Cop is unsure why Life & Style feels compelled to manufacture fake battles for Pitt and Jolie when they’re already embroiled in a very real one.
