Brad Pitt Reveals “Awesome” New Oscars Idea on The Daily Show (VIDEO)

Brad Pitt dropped by “The Daily Show” Wednesday night, and the Oscar nominee revealed a brilliant new idea for determining Academy Award winners.

First, host Jon Stewart asked the Moneyball star, “Why don’t Oscar movies… go negative on other movies?” comparing the process to the current Republican presidential nomination race.

“It’s always ‘For your consideration: Moneyball,’ but why not, like, ‘The Artist: Go F*ck Yourself,’” jokes the host.

Pitt says, “You know what I think we should do? I think we should just put a trophy on the table… and we should just all put our hands on it and see who can hold it the longest. And the last man standing takes the trophy!”

“That is the most awesome idea I’ve ever heard,” declares Stewart.

    brad pitt need to go somewhere and sit down. He want that oscar so bad but he doesnot deserve it.
    maybe if he was living his life right and keeping his mouth shut good things would come his way sometimes.George clooney is a better actor.I hope the actor from the artist win for best actor. He deserves it.

    There are some stars they rave about it whether they are any good or not. Way before they
    are even out. The Help is the only one that has made any money and it was good. They
    deserve to win. I don’t know about The Artist but it doesn’t appeal to me. I didn’t care at
    all for Moneyball and didn’t think the acting was great. George was much better but it
    wasn’t a top movie for me either.

    Ha, ha, ha, oh but he is living his life right. He has it all going for him – for one he has a beautiful family and he’s a great humanitarian. Look at all the wonderful work he has done in NO. And why should he shut his mouth, oh he has lots of interesting to say. He’s a GREAT actor and he DESERVE the Oscar. Go Brad, what a great person you are.

    Marian is completely right. Pitt has been on a NINE MONTH oscar campaign since the Cannes Film Festival. Here’s just a quick rundown of what is known about his campaigning. God knows what we don’t know about.

    He and Angie personally called all 80 Golden Globe voters to try and sway their vote, Brad suddenly made himself available to bloggers he wouldn’t give the time of day to a year ago (they’ve talked about his sudden interest in them), exploiting the kids endlessly (as usual), in a play to sway older more traditional voters of which there are man he suddenly starts talking about how he and Angie are going to get married (after never mentioning this in the last seven years), he threatened to retire so this might be the last chance to give him an Oscar, he walked with a cane and then suddenly lost the cane the day after the nominations were in.

    Ask yourself, why is Brad even on The Daily Show or the Today Show or Inside The Actor’s Studio right now? He has no new film out. What he is claiming is that he is promoting the release of the Moneyball DVD. Doing a full blown PR tour for the DVD release of the Moneyball DVD even though he has never been on a DVD tour for any of his previous films is completely ridiculous and something that no A-List star ever does. It’s intent is to remind voters once again that he is nominated for an Oscar.
    This is ALL about campaigning for the Oscar. You should check out what Laineygossip has had to say about the ridiculousness of his campaigning. She’s a fan of his but even she has had enough.

    Have you actually met Brad Pitt? Otherwise, there really is no way to know whether he is a great person or not. Even the football coach who just got caught molesting all those boys was known in the community as someone who did lots of charity work. There was also that humanitarian who wrote all those books about his humanitarianism and now it turns out he made half of it up. Just goes to show that image and reality are not always the same. Besides, what in the world was Brad Pitt doing the first 20 years he was rich and famous because caring about the poor and the downtrodden was most certainly not on his list of concerns? For TWO DECADES this man didn’t give a crap about charity so excuse me if I don’t roll out the red carpet for him now.

I was responding to the previous post that said “if he was living the right life good things would come hs way”. Did you ask that person if she actually met Brad?? How does she know he’s not living the ‘right’ life.

    It’s obvious you don’t know anything about the guy. Just because you think he didn’t do any charity work for the first 20 years doesn’t mean you are right. HE DID. Stop reading trashy rags.

    And let’s not forget that Brad’s company produced Moneyball and Tree of Life, so I am sure he is looking at publicity for the movies as well, not just for himself. I really don’t think he will be brokenhearted if he doesn’t win….although he should! He’s a terrific actor. He is also a really good person, no matter what any of these blogs say. Brad and Angie are the best!!
