Brad Pitt Child Abuse Investigation Closed
Brad Pitt’s child abuse investigation was closed on Wednesday, Gossip Cop has learned. Pitt had been under investigation by the Los Angeles County’s Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), stemming from an incident involving the actor and his oldest child, Maddox, aboard a private jet on September 14. As we noted at the time, while on a flight with now-estranged wife Angelina Jolie and their six children, Pitt and Maddox had an altercation, promoting an anonymous call to be made to DCFS.
Now, Gossip Cop is told DCFS concluded that Pitt did not abuse Maddox during that argument, which escalated on the plane and resulted in the actor unintentionally getting physical with the 15-year-old. For close to two months, DCFS interviewed Pitt, Jolie, their children, and others who were on the jet, and following their exhaustive investigation found the actor did not abuse the teen. It should be noted, Pitt denied committing any abuse from the outset.
Of course, this finding not only clears Pitt’s name, but it also will help bolster his case for joint physical and legal custody of Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne. As Gossip Cop reported, when Jolie filed for divorce in September, she sought sole custody of the children. But in early November, Pitt filed his response to Jolie’s petition and asked for joint custody.
