Brad Pitt Says He Needs Cane After Injuring Himself While Protecting Daughter Vivienne

Brad Pitt walked the red carpet at the Palm Springs International Film Festival awards gala on Saturday night with the help of a cane.

Standing along with his partner Angelina Jolie, Pitt said he injured his ACL, a ligament in the knee.

The Moneyball star explained, ”I was carrying my daughter [Vivienne] down the hill [while on ski slopes] and I slipped,” noting, “It was either her or me” that was going to get hurt.

Fortunately, Vivienne is “absolutely fine,” said Jolie, adding, “I like the cane.”

And that’s good because Pitt said that, while he won’t need surgery, he’ll be relying on the cane for some time.

    WTF? is right JUST WTF IS WRONG WITH YOU? Example: I am a girl and at age 4 starting skiing and snowboarding…Nothing bizzarro about getting children involved with sports or activities..Plenty of parent’s do it..better than them sitting in the house watching TV or playing video games or glaring at facebook.You are a weak act. I spent 4 year’s in Japan and was 7th degree black belt at 14. Brad did not put his child in harm’s way..I believe the story reads he took the fall. Really get out more. My father was and is a great father for teaching all four of his children so many diverse thing’s. And is Our Hero Forever.

    I think the cane looks great, because of the story behind it. :) He is a great father for being willing to take the pain, so his little girl didn’t get hurt. He did what every father should do, and yet what far too few fahters actually do, given the opportunity. :) What a great guy. I can always tell that this is one of few “real” families left in Hollywood these days. :) Im so glad little Viv was okay, and I wish Brad a quick recovery. :)

    Exactly…so why any bullshit comment’s from any idiot. And the only reason this father and daughter moment was recognized is simply because he is a star. This sort of thing happen’s on a daily basis with all families that venture in activities with their children. So for those of you commenting on a negative mode …get out and take a jog…reather than slamming a father protecting his child while they are at play.
