Brad Pitt Attacked By Red Carpet Crasher, Man Arrested After Touching Star’s Face
A man was arrested at Wednesday’s Maleficent premiere after allegedly jumping a barricade, running up to Brad Pitt, and touching the star’s face.
Pitt was walking the red carpet at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood when the unidentified male reportedly rushed the actor. There are conflicting reports as to whether Pitt was punched — and whether he struck back.
Security immediately intervened, however, and police took the man away in handcuffs. He’s expected to be charged with misdemeanor battery, says TMZ.
Some outlets have identified the suspect as Ukrainian prankster Vitalii Sediuk, who stuck his head under America Ferrera’s dress at Cannes earlier this month. The Los Angeles Police Department has yet to confirm what kind of altercation, exactly, took place, or formally name the man in custody.
As Gossip Cop reported, Pitt was on hand at the event to support longtime partner Angelina Jolie, the movie’s star. He was said to be uninjured in the bizarre incident, and reportedly resumed signing autographs for fans shortly after.
In addition to the disgusting attack on Ferrera, Sediuk has previously crashed red carpet events by running up to male celebrities like Bradley Cooper and Leonardo DiCaprio and burying his head in their crotches. When he once tried to actually kiss Will Smith, the Oscar nominee slapped him.
