Brad Pitt’s Supposed Siberian Escape Just Another Snow Job

“Brad Finally Takes a Stand” is the headline of a piece in In Touch, which claims that “with tension escalating between him and his partner, Angelina Jolie, [Brad Pitt’s] decided to claim his career – and his life – even if he has to go to Siberia to do it.”

Is there a chance this dramatic set-up will lead to a story any less ridiculous than the numerous lame rumors about Pitt and Jolie the tabloid has spread already?

Sigh.

Nope. This one’s just as weak.

The mag reports, “Angelina ‘went through the roof’ when she learned that Brad would be producing and probably starring in the upcoming film The Tiger, which will be shooting in Siberia in 2011.”

Pitt, according to In Touch, “thinks it’s only fair” that he go on location for a number of weeks after taking care of his and Jolie’s six children while she made a string of movies.

Fascinating.

Hate to break it to the magazine, though, but this rumor of a Russian rift between Pitt and Jolie just isn’t true.

There is no shooting schedule for The Tiger, and Pitt’s role as a star isn’t even confirmed.

Let’s also do what In Touch won’t and inject some common sense. Pitt and Jolie obviously discussed his (possible) involvement in The Tiger — and its isolated location — before any decision was made. He wouldn’t have signed to shoot the film without telling her first.

Once again, it’s a case of the tabloid looking to create strife where none exists.

Like Siberia, that’s just cold.
