A week ago, the tabs were abuzz (again) with talk that Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were breaking up. And if you recall, Gossip Cop was ahead of the curve, calling those rumors “bullsplit.”
For those still questioning whether they are or aren’t together, here are some notes from friends of ours who saw the couple last night at the Director’s Guild of America Awards, held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in Los Angeles.
According to one Gossip Cop pal, “They were smiling, happy and seemed to be enjoying a night out together.” That same source says, “They shared a few private jokes… Angelina laughed a number of times after Brad whispered stuff in her ear.”
Another onlooker tells Gossip Cop that Pitt, who was at the awards to introduce his “Inglourious Basterds” director, Quentin Tarantino, “kept his hand – a few times- on the small of [Angelina's] back. It was sweet.”
Hopefully, the media will remain sweet to them as well for the time being.

They’re not just a week ago. It’s been every week for 5 yrs.
sweet….but too sweet….of course they do something like this now….but i bet in a month you will get contacted by an agent of Pitt or Jolie and he/she will tell you they are no longer together.
They ARE falling apart…I dont get why they are pretending to be happy. They are SO not….
@ Maren Gockel: You know they are unhappy how? You live in their house? You spy through their windows? You read tea leaves and tarot cards? Crystal ball maybe? Or maybe you just believe all the bullsh!t you read in the tabloids?
Like Leah says, every week for five years the tabloids have been saying they are breaking up. It gets old, know what I’m saying?
I think you haters are more obsessed with this couple than their fans are. One thing you can take to the bank; if they ever do break up, he sure as hell isn’t running back to Jennifer. She’s ancient history.
