New estimates after Saturday still have Inception as the top movie in America for a second straight weekend, with Angelina Jolie‘s Salt expected to finish a very strong #2.
Christopher Nolan‘s sci-fi mind-bender, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, continues to earn big bucks at the box office, taking in an estimated $13.2 million on Friday and $17 million on Saturday en route to a weekend of about $40 million.
Spy thriller Salt, meanwhile, was just behind with a $12.7 million Friday and a $14 million Saturday (estimated), tracking toward a $37 million weekend.
The other big new release is family-friendly Ramona and Beezus, starring Selena Gomez. It will end the weekend with roughly $8 million.
On the holdover blockbuster front, Toy Story 3 is creeping closer to $400M (it will be at $380 million after this weekend), while The Twilight Saga: Eclipse is edging toward $300M ($280 million right now).
