Aww, can’t wait to see New Year’s Eve

I don’t think $16M sounds like a lot for a movie with so many stars in it. Sure, it’s good to be #1 but I think the studio expected the move to be in the $20M range. Of course things could change by Monday.

That is not a good showing for NYE. I’ll wait til it comes on cable. Valentine’s Day was stupid.

  • Danny

Valentine’s Day got over 30 million on it’s opening weekend and 16 million is rare to be #1 so it’s just a lucky weekend. There are lots of movie examples but I remember Burlesque had 28 million and it opened in #4 on it’s weekend. So yeah, lucky weekend.

    13.8 million?!? There’s a certified flop.

  • Cherri

ouch… I thought it would do better as well. It looks cool, I’ll watch it when it comes out in my country. But it is considered a flop…

18 big name and well known stars with a $13.7 million first week box-office take! Had this movie starred Julia Roberts, or Sandra Bullock, or Angelina Jolie, ALONE, it will be trumpeted as a major flop!

Breaking Dawn, with all the hype, couldn’t beat Harry Potter and lagged behind Eclipse and New Moon at this time. Cue the threads which will question if R-Pattz “indiscretion” last Saturday played a part in its third place finish this weekend.

    What a stupid comment!

Wow and People Said Taylor Lautner’s Abduction Flopped

  • Kelly

Going out with friends is not an indescretion except to morons like you. The movie saw the same decline for the last 3 weeks. All movies do. And your girl Kristen was at her SWATH afterparty drinking til after 330am today when most everyone else had already left. She closed the party down. She showed up with and left with members of both sexes in the same car as well and no I dont mean her body guard and assistant body guard). Guess she was cheating, right? Can only hope there is pictures. That way all of you will have to stop with the drama unless you want to put it on her this time.

You shuoldn’t compare BD part 1 with Harry Potter part 2. If you want to compare we can compare HP part 1 to BD part 1

After three weeks Harry Potter and the Deathly Hollows Part 1 made $249,188,405 in 4,125 theatres.
After three weeks Breaking Dawn Part 1 made $251,583,267 in 4,066 theatres

You can compare Part two with the BD part two when it comes out at the end of next year. But the figures show that it did better then HP part one in less theatres.

Everything here was taken from Boxofficemojo. Think what you want.
