Bono AIDS Campaign Gives Fans Chance To Hang Out With Celebrities
Bono is launching a new campaign that gives fans people the chance to hang out with their favorite stars, if they donate money to his organization RED, which is dedicated to fighting AIDS. The campaign begins on Tuesday, December 1, which marks World AIDS Day.
Supporters who pledge as little as $10 will be entered into a contest of their choosing, and get the opportunity to do a number of cool things with celebrities, including ride a bike with Bono through Central Park and get ice cream afterwards. Among the other prizes are a trip to the set of “Game of Thrones,” a private cooking lesson with Mario Batali, getting your portrait painted by James Franco, and shooting a holiday card with Shaquille O’Neal.
Jimmy Kimmel is offering two separate rewards to those who support RED, including letting someone hang out with Matt Damon in the “Jimmy Kimmel Live” green room as he waits to go on the show. He’s also offering parents to give their child, no matter how young or old, “the talk” (about sex). Additionally, Kim Kardashian and her “glam squad” will give someone a professional makeover, and Matthew McConaughey is inviting a fan to watch a University of Texas at Austin football game with him in his VIP box.
Tom Brady will teach a lucky fan how to throw a perfect spiral, while Meryl Streep will walk with a fan down the red carpet at one of her movie premieres. And there are several other prizes featuring once-in-a-lifetime experiences with A-list celebrities.
