Bobbi Kristina Brown In Hospice After “Deteriorating” — SEE STATEMENT
Bobbi Kristina Brown is in hospice, due to her condition continuing to “deteriorate,” her family announced on Wednesday.
In a statement given to Gossip Cop on behalf of the Houston family, Pat Houston says, “Despite the great medical care at numerous facilities, Bobbi Kristina Brown’s condition has continued to deteriorate. As of today, she has been moved into hospice care. We thank everyone for their support and prayers. She is in God’s hands now.”
Brown, the daughter of the late Whitney Houston, is said to be off all medications that were helping to keep her alive, and her organs are believed to be failing. The development comes nearly five months after the 22-year-old was found face-down and unconscious in her bathtub. She was hospitalized on life support, and Cissy Houston said in April that Brown was unresponsive with irreversible brain damage, even though she was no longer on a ventilator.
Cissy then said in May that her granddaughter was “not progressing at all” as she stayed at a rehabilitative facility. Last week, Brown’s father Bobby Brown slammed reports claiming she was being moved “home to die.” At the time, he and other family members were still holding out hope that Brown could have a meaningful recovery. But, after consulting with a new specialist, the Browns and Houstons were informed there is no chance of her waking up.
Pat Houston and Bobby Brown were appointed co-guardians overseeing medical care in May. They have jointly made the decision to remove Brown from life support. It could take minutes to hours to days, however, for Brown to ultimately die. Gossip Cop will have updates.
