Bobbi Kristina Brown Dead At 22
Bobbi Kristina Brown is dead, Gossip Cop has learned. The daughter of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown died on Sunday, nearly six months after she was found unconscious in the bathtub. She was 22.
The Houston family said in a statement: “Bobbi Kristina Brown passed away July, 26 2015, surrounded by her family. She is finally at peace in the arms of God. We want to again thank everyone for their tremendous amount of love and support during these last few months.”
As Gossip Cop reported, on January 31 Nick Gordon and a friend discovered Brown face-down and unresponsive in a tub of water at her home in Roswell, Georgia. Brown was taken to the hospital, where she was put in a medically induced coma and on a ventilator. Though she eventually regained the ability to breathe on her own, Cissy Houston said in April that Brown was still unresponsive and had permanent brain damage.
In May, Bobby Brown and Pat Houston, Whitney’s sister-in-law, were appointed co-guardians of her medical care. While Bobby spent much of these last few months insisting his daughter was improving, the family recently consulted a new specialist who indicated there was no chance of a meaningful recovery. As such, Brown was recently moved into hospice care, and all medications and other life-saving measures were stopped.
After the medical emergency in January, Roswell police confirmed to Gossip Cop that a criminal investigation was launched. Brown was found with marks on her body, and Gordon was said to be under suspicion for alleged foul play. Throughout the ordeal, Gordon was not been permitted to visit Bobbi Kristina, and spent a month in rehab for drug and alcohol abuse.
Brown was born on March 4, 1993, the only child of Houston and Bobby Brown. Affectionately called Krissy by those closest to her, she often joined her parents at public events, and appeared on her dad’s reality show, “Being Bobby Brown.” Brown was 14 when her parents divorced, and while her relationship with her father was strained at times, she was incredibly close to her mother. She was, naturally, devastated when Houston died a little more than three years ago, in 2012, in an eerily similar manner, accidentally drowning in a hotel bathtub the night before the Grammy Awards. Brown found comfort in Gordon, whom Houston had welcomed into their home years prior.
Despite popular belief that Gordon and Brown were siblings, Houston never actually adopted him. Gordon and Brown embarked on a romantic relationship, reportedly over the objections of Houston’s mother, Cissy, and other family members. They announced they had wed in early 2014, but apparently they were never legally married. Brown is survived by Gordon, Bobby Brown, Cissy Houston, uncle and aunt Gary and Pat Houston, and other relatives. Gossip Cop will have updates.
