Bob Saget Joins Full House Spinoff To Complete Fuller House Cast
Bob Saget has signed on to the “Full House” spinoff “Fuller House,” John Stamos announced early Friday morning. Stamos wrote on Twitter, “best piece of casting yet. The great @bobsaget will be joining our show on @netfilx – this completes the perfect reunion!” Saget, of course, will reprise his role of Danny Tanner, the father of the spinoff’s main stars D.J. Tanner, played by Candace Cameron-Bure, and Jodie Sweetin’s Stephanie Tanner. As Gossip Cop previously reported, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen will not be returning to play the role of Saget’s other on-screen daughter, Michelle Tanner.
On Thursday, Lori Loughlin confirmed on “Good Morning America” that she would be reprising the part of Aunt Becky on Netflix’s “Fuller House.” Loughlin said, “We’ll come back and do the first episode, and then maybe throughout the season we’ll come back and pop up here and there.” As Gossip Cop has noted, also returning is Dave Coulier and Andrea Barber, who plays D.J. Tanner’s best friend Kimmy Gibler.
The plot of the new Netflix series centers around Bure’s D.J. Tanner character, who’s a widow and pregnant with her third child. Much like how Uncle Jesse and Joey moved in with Danny Tanner, who was a widower with three daughters, D.J. Tanner’s sister Stephanie and Gibler now live with her and help her raise her children.
In addition to reprising his role as Uncle Jesse, Stamos is also producing “Fuller House.” Tell us what you think about Saget signing on to the “Full House” spinoff.
