Bob Harper Heart Attack “Today” Show Interview: “I Was Dead” (VIDEO)
Bob Harper candidly discussed his heart attack during a live interview on Tuesday’s “Today” show. Watch the video below.
As Gossip Cop reported, Harper suffered a heart attack in February while working out at a gym. While he has kept fans updated on his recovery via social media, this is the first time he is opening up about what exactly went down that fateful day. “I had what they call a widow-maker. It was a six percent survival rate,” Harper told Savannah Guthrie.
“The fact that there were doctors in the gym when I had the heart attack saved my life,” confessed “The Biggest Loser” trainer. That said, Harper doesn’t actually remember what exactly happened to him, and has relied on what others have told him. He went into “full cardiac arrest,” and was subject to a defibrillator three times.
Harper told Guthrie, “My heart stopped. Not to be dramatic, [but] I was dead. I was on that ground dead.” Waking after a two-day coma, the fitness expert was understandably confused. It was also “hugely shocking” to have this medical emergency as a healthy 51-year-old.
And now Harper is “going through some depression,” he said. Physically, though, “I feel good… I’m taking it one day at a time.” Check out the full interview below.
