Blake Shelton “Using” Gwen Stefani Claim NOT True
A very misleading OK! headline blares: “Is Blake Shelton Using Gwen Stefani? How She’s Falling Into The Same Trap As Miranda Lambert Revealed.” But the accompanying article isn’t actually about Shelton “using” either woman in the romantic sense. Instead, the tabloid references a baseless Us Weekly story claiming that back when Shelton was married to Lambert, he got contestants to join his team on “The Voice” by name-dropping her, and now he’s supposedly employing the same tactic by bringing up his relationship with Stefani.
A so-called “source” tells the tabloid, “To get people on his team, Blake will say, ‘I don’t want to brag, but my girlfriend is the queen of ska.'” The magazines dubious insider then adds that when he was married to Lambert, Shelton would try to impress contestants by saying, “My wife, Miranda Lambert, is the best female country star.”
But Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to the situation, who assures us that Shelton has never used his high-profile love life to get contestants to join his team on “The Voice.” We’re exclusively told the claim is complete “nonsense.” “If he mentioned them, it’s because he’s proud of their achievements. That’s all,” added our impeccable insider. Basically, OK! not only re-reported a fictitious tale, but it also created a misleading headline with its misuse of the word “using.”
Of course, we’re not surprised that the publication got the story wrong, since Gossip Cop has repeatedly called out the magazine for spreading lies about Stefani and Shelton. In the past few months alone, Gossip Cop has busted several of the publication’s cover stories that falsely claimed Stefani was either pregnant with Shelton’s baby, or that the two were on the verge of getting married. Once again, the often unreliable tabloid has printed an untrue article about the couple.
