Blake Shelton Praises Gwen Stefani’s “Space Pants” Sketch And Performances On ‘SNL’ (VIDEO)
Blake Shelton praised Gwen Stefani during and after her performances on “SNL.” Stefani’s proud boyfriend tweeted that she was “brilliant.” He also joked in a tweet directed at her that he wanted Stefani to wear one of her “Saturday Night Live” costumes, a pair of “space pants” when she gets “back home.”
Stefani’s first appearance on this week’s “Saturday Night Live” had her in a rather bizarre sketch with the show’s guest host Peter Dinklage. Basically, while a couple of mobsters were trying to shake down two other guys in a club, Dinklage and Stefani performed a song called pants “Space Pants,” while wearing pants that had the solar system printed on them. Gossip Cop has video of them singing “Space Pants” below. Following that bit, Shelton tweeted, “Hey @gwenstefani… Please wear space pants when you get back home!!! Ha!!!”
And right before Stefani sang “Make Me Like You,” Shelton told his 16 million Twitter followers, “Get ready for @gwenstefani performance on @nbcsnl!” After she finished singing, a fan tweeted at the country singer whether he was “dead after that performance,” and Shelton replied, “I’m dead. Dead I say!”
For her second song, Stefani performed “Misery” on “SNL.” Just moments after she was done singing, a pumped-up Shelton lovingly tweeted, “Wow… @gwenstefani performance of ‘misery’.. Brilliant.
