WATCH: Blake Shelton Performs “Neon Light” On SNL (VIDEO)
Blake Shelton performed “Neon Light” on this week’s “SNL.” Check out the video below of his performance.
“Neon Light” was the first single released off Shelton’s most recent album “Bring Back the Sunshine.” The song is about a guy who’s really depressed after getting dumped and heads to a bar, where he realizes that despite his current sadness, there’s a “neon light at the end of the tunnel.” But while he’s at the bar, according to the song, he decides he’s going to drink a “shot of ‘I don’t care what you doing now,’” chase it down with a “cold ‘screw you,’” and then wash it all down with a “big pitcher of ‘Someone new.’”
“Neon Light” has currently sold nearly a half-million copies, and reached the number one spot on Billboard’s Country Airplay list. The song also peaked at 43 on the Billboard Hot 100 list and at number three on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs list.
Shelton is not only making his “SNL” debut as host, but he’s also serving as the musical guest, putting him in the league of such other stars to fill both roles as Justin Timberlake, Lady Gaga, Drake, Britney Spears, Bruno Mars, and Jennifer Lopez.
