Blake Shelton Wants Gwen Stefani To Replace Christina Aguilera On ‘The Voice’?
Blake Shelton is not trying to get Christina Aguilera fired from “The Voice,” and replace her with Gwen Stefani, despite a fabricated tabloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s “not true.”
As Gossip Cop reported, Stefani substituted for Aguilera as a coach for the ninth season of the singing competition show because Aguilera was on maternity leave. But now, according to Star, Shelton is attempting to give Aguilera the boot for good and keep Stefani permanently as a coach. A so-called “insider” tells the tabloid, “Blake’s not being subtle about campaigning for Gwen to stay on at Christina’s expense. It’s made things very tense on set.”
The tabloid’s supposed source also alleges that Shelton is on a “power trip,” and trying to run the whole show. The outlet’s “insider” further claims, “Christina thinks he and Gwen are ganging up on her and playing dirty. She feels totally stabbed in the back.”
That’s all very dramatic, but Gossip Cop checked in with a source close to Aguilera, and we’re exclusively told the tabloid’s story is simply “not true.” We’re assured, as well, that Shelton “adores” Aguilera, and the singer is “like a sister to him.” The magazine’s inaccurate report, however, isn’t surprising, since Star is the same outlet Gossip Cop recently shamed for wrongly claiming Stefani was pregnant with Shelton’s baby.
