Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton Not Recording Album Together, Despite Report
According to In Touch, Stefani and Shelton are “about to make sweet music together.” The tabloid claims the couple “began writing together in the fall, shortly after going public with their romance.” So, what will the album be like? “It’s going to be a country-inspired collaboration,” says the magazine’s woefully wrong “source.” The same supposed insider adds, “The album will be a whole new outlook on music, mixing Blake’s country voice and Gwen’s pop expertise. It will be an amazing crossover record.”
The tabloid’s alleged “source” adds that Stefani’s motivation for collaborating with Shelton is that she feels “country music will be great to add to her repertoire because it will increase her likability and sales… Plus, Gwen feels it’ll make Blake’s friends and family like her more.” As for Shelton, says the magazine, “Blake is just excited to be working with Gwen again. He can’t wait to show her the country ropes! He’s her No. 1 supporter.”
Just to recap: In Touch claims Shelton and Stefani are working on a record together, and while he’s just happy to be collaborating with his girlfriend, her Machiavellian reasons include being liked by his pals and widening her fan base. There’s one slight problem with this story, and that is Shelton and Stefani are not working on an album together, no matter how many fake quotes and details the magazine made up. It’s all untrue. Stefani’s rep exclusively tells Gossip Cop they are not collaborating on a record.
This is just the latest in a string of total fabrications published by the magazine about Stefani and Shelton. Gossip Cop exclusively busted the outlet when it first made up a cover story about them getting married, and then again when the tabloid claimed that Stefani had canceled the (nonexistent) wedding. Gossip Cop also shot down two entirely false covers about her supposedly being pregnant. Much like those provably wrong tales, the latest about them releasing an album together is also a complete lie.
