Blake Shelton Reacts To Miranda Lambert Divorce Jokes At CMAs
Blake Shelton has no hard feelings about the jokes made about his divorce from Miranda Lambert at Wednesday’s CMAs. “Ha!!! Don’t worry brother man,” he said when host Brad Paisley thanked him for being a good sport.
As Gossip Cop reported, during Paisley and Carrie Underwood’s CMAs open, the two hosts launched into a song about how the world has gone “cray cray.” “We can’t ignore the breakup that really rocked our world,” Underwood pointed out, as the camera panned over to Miss Piggy and Kermit The Frog. Paisley then joked, “On a completely unrelated topic, howdy, Blake,” before asking, “Carrie, did you hear that duet Blake did with Ashley Madison?” In reality, Shelton duetted with country singer Ashley Monroe on the song “Lonely Tonight.”
On Thursday, Paisley thanked Shelton on Twitter for taking the jokes in stride. “Thanks for being a great sport Blake Shelton. Love ya bro,” tweet Paisley, to which Shelton responded, “Ha!!! Don’t worry brother man. If there’s anybody on earth who’s learned to take it its me!!! Love you buddy.”
Last week, Shelton said he was expecting jabs. “There’s gotta be a [joke] about me and Miranda,” the country star noted during an appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” “Brad Paisley is not doing his job if he doesn’t look down there and go, ‘Haha!’ He’s gotta do it! You have to address the elephant in the room,” added Shelton.
For her part, Lambert hasn’t commented on the jokes, but she did say during her Female Vocalist of the Year acceptance speech at the CMAs that she needed a “bright spot” given the year she’s had. Tell Gossip Cop: What did you think of the jokes about the divorce?
