Blake Shelton is not “hiding shameful family secrets” from Gwen Stefani, despite a new report that’s extremely sensational (not in the good way). Allow Gossip Cop to shine a light on this fake “dark secrets” story.

RadarOnline breathlessly exclaims in the headline of a new article, “What Gwen Doesn’t Know: Blake Shelton Is Hiding Shameful Family Secrets From Stefani.” It also maintains it can expose the “cheating scandal and arrests that could destroy their love.” And according to the website, Shelton’s “family tree is full of rotten apple, and their dark secrets could tear his relationship with Gwen Stefani apart!”

OK, so now that the site has teased all these terrible things it has “uncovered” in a few different ways, what exactly have his relatives done? Are y’all ready? Brace yourselves. “Shelton’s former stepbrother was allegedly busted for booze,” drops the webloid. Wait, it gets even worse. Shelton’s “parents may have set a bad example when it comes to marriage,” offers the site wish-washily. Whoa!

To recap: His folks may have, though not necessarily, “set a bad example” because as they were divorcing, his mom allegedly began dating a man who was married. And 14 years ago, when the country singer was already in his late 20s, some guy whose mom was once married to Shelton’s father was arrested for a DUI, a weapons charge and public intoxication. Gwen, run for the hills while you still can!

Gossip Cop is by no means laughing off infidelity or drunk driving, but neither of those things have anything to do with Shelton’s relationship with Stefani. They’re completely unrelated, and they’re hardly “dark secrets” that he’s “hiding” out of fear that they could “tear his relationship with Gwen Stefani apart.” The only thing that’s truly “shameful” is how RadarOnline has pieced together tangential occurrences and passed it off as something that could derail Shelton and Stefani’s romance.

Notwithstanding, Gossip Cop still approached a Shelton insider about these non-earthshattering tidbits, and we were assured it’s nothing more than a lame attempt by the website to “oversell” its story. Of course, this is all coming from the same outlet that recently reported Shelton and Stefani were “faking” their relationship on “The Voice.” While in of itself wrong, that fake news story was all the more amusing because it came right on the heels of the blog contradictorily claiming Stefani and Shelton were annoying “The Voice” staff with their legit romance. The least “dark” secret here is that RadarOnline is manufacturing drama between the couple, where there is none, just to land a top search result and its accompany traffic (below).
