Blake Shelton And Gwen Stefani To “Flaunt Romance” During “The Voice” Battles?
RadarOnline reported on Monday that Shelton and Stefani are “planning some changes at ‘The Voice’ to make sure the show maximizes the ratings impact of their romance.” The new couple supposedly has the blessing of the series’ producers. In fact, one “show insider” is quoted as saying, “The executives are even hinting to them that, when it gets to [the] battle round, they should play it up for the cameras so that they purposely steal each other’s eliminated contestants.”
And that’s exactly how Gossip Cop knows this story is made up. The season 9 Battles ended last month. The subsequent Knockout round took place over the last two weeks, and the Live Playoffs start on Monday night. There are no more steals allowed.
Even if we were to give RadarOnline and its source the benefit of the doubt about the timeline, its claim still doesn’t hold up. Because it can’t even be argued that they were talking about “when it gets to [the] battle round” on the next season, because Stefani won’t be participating in that cycle. As Gossip Cop previously reported, Christina Aguilera will be taking her place.
Gossip Cop won’t be surprised if Shelton and Stefani’s apparent new relationship is acknowledged on “The Voice” in some way. But RadarOnline couldn’t be more wrong about plans to “flaunt their romance” during the Battles. This is just yet another case of the webloid trying to capitalize on a hot topic with provably false information.
