Blake Shelton Slams Rumor He’s “Being Fired” From “The Voice”
Blake Shelton is slamming an unfounded rumor that claims he’s being fired from “The Voice.”
Shelton, who has been a coach on every season since the NBC music competition premiered in 2011, was alerted to the false allegation on Tuesday morning. A concerned fan tweeted to him, “@blakeshelton Why do all the people on Facebook say the Voice is firing you?” The country superstar responded with his trademark candor.
“Because people Facebook always have the inside scoop!!! By that I mean picking their noses… #dipsh*ts,” Shelton replied. It’s not clear where exactly on the social networking site that wrong rumor originated, but the fan had actually been seeking an answer from Shelton or the show on Twitter for the last week. After Shelton set the record straight, the Twitter user acknowledged, “I did have the forethought to go to @NBCthevoice to find out the truth.”
Shelton ranks as the series’ winningest coach, having led artists to victory four times out of nine seasons. He’s currently filming the 10th season, which will premiere on February 29. And girlfriend Gwen Stefani, herself an on-and-off coach, is serving as the Team Blake adviser for the Battle Round.
While it’s possible Shelton might opt to leave the show after being on it for so long, producers are most definitely NOT looking to get rid of him. If and when something changes, Shelton (and Gossip Cop) will have the real story.
