Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert are divorcing after four years of marriage.

In a joint statement, Lambert and Shelton say, “This is not the future we envisioned. And it is with heavy hearts that we move forward separately. We are real people, with real lives, with real families, friends and colleagues. Therefore, we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.”

Shelton filed for divorce two weeks ago, and a judge signed off on the paperwork on Monday. The judgment makes the “Voice” coach and Lambert officially single again. A prenuptial agreement signed before their 2011 wedding is being upheld.

That document has now dictated the stars’ financial settlement. The two have also already divided their property. Lambert will keep their Nashville residence, while Shelton plans to hold on to the Oklahoma ranch.

Shelton and Lambert met in 2005 while performing on the “CMT 100 Greatest Duets Concert” special. Though he was still married at the time, Shelton later said he instantly fell in love with Lambert. He and high school sweetheart Kaynette Gern, whom he wed in 2003, went on to divorce in 2006.

Shelton and Lambert then embarked on a romance, and became engaged in 2010. As Gossip Cop reported at the time, they had a country-themed wedding on a Texas ranch the following year, tying the knot in front of a number of celebrity pals. They went on to become one of country music’s superstar couples.

Despite tabloid stories, both stars have previously denied divorce reports, and even sent humorous tweets to each other in 2013 mocking one magazine claim. As Gossip Cop reported last year, Shelton also slammed such stories on the “Today Show,” saying, “The truth is, I’ve never felt a stronger bond with… not only with her but with any other human being in my life. She’s my life.” And, as Gossip Cop noted at the time, in January’s Marie Claire earlier this year, Lambert said of Shelton, “Literally, everything is the best about being married.”

Lambert and Shelton, however, last stepped out at an event together at April’s Academy of Country Music Awards. That same month, sources denied to Gossip Cop that their marriage was on the “brink.” Since then, however, it seems a tipping point occurred.

Hours before Monday’s announcement, Lambert tweeted about a one-night only Nashville concert for July 28, and the event sold out shortly afterward. She hasn’t mentioned Shelton on social media since April, and neither acknowledged their four-year wedding anniversary in May. Lambert also did not mention Shelton’s birthday last month. Gossip Cop will have have updates.
