Blake Shelton “Came Here To Forget” – Listen To New Song!
Blake Shelton released his new song “Came Here To Forget” on Tuesday. Listen below!
“Came Here To Forget” is the first single off Shelton’s upcoming album. It’s also the first new song he’s released in the wake of divorcing Miranda Lambert last summer. The lyrics tell of a guy moving on from a failed romance with a new love, and will surely make fans think of Shelton’s new relationship with Gwen Stefani.
Shelton croons in the opening line, “Girl getting over him/and I’m getting over her.” He goes on to sing in the chorus, “Getting even with her/Gettin’ even with him before the night is over/That first kiss was like a Colorado hit/You better keep on keeping it lit/’Til we can’t remember/Can’t remember why we came here to forget.”
Other lyrics include, “Looks like it’s just me and you/Falling in love just enough to get us through.” And if Shelton and Stefani initially got together to “forget” their respective splits, they sure seem in love now. Hours before the song’s release, the No Doubt front woman tweeted, “Hi @blakeshelton #cameheretoforget gx.”
Shelton will likely perform the song on “The Voice” once the season 10 live episodes begin. Before that, Stefani will serve as the Team Blake adviser for the Battle round. Listen to “Came Here To Forget” below!
